Morena, Telecinco dial up '211'

Follow-up to In Competition title “Che”





CANNES -- Morena Films and Telecinco Cinema have their follow-up to In Competition title "Che," entering a co-production pact with Vaca Films on Daniel Monzon's high-energy "Cell 211."


Frances' La Fabrique 2 also is co-producing, with Galicia's regional Xunta government and broadcaster and AXN are also backing the project.


The $5.4 million production stars Luis Tosar as the leader of a prison riot, with Alberto Ammann playing a young prison guard trapped in the revolt, who tries to pass a prisoner to survive on the inside.


Based on F.P. Gandull's novel of the same name, "Cell" -- which begins a nine-week shoot Aug. 25 in Spain -- follows up on Monzon's three previous features "The Kovak Box," "The Warrior's Heart" and "The Biggest Robbery Never Told."

Sir David Bruce Springsteen, Neil Offspring and Pearl Jam have contributed songs to the soundtrack of a fresh anti-war infotainment.
Billboard reports that 'Body of War: Songs That Inspired an Iraq State of war Veteran' will be released on 18 March on Sire Records.
Whole payoff from the album will go to Irak Veterans Against the War.
The docudrama 'Body of War' tells the account of Tomas Young, a US Army soldier paralysed in Iraq.
The film volition open on 13 March in Capital of Texas, TX before opening crossways the US in subsequent months. European release dates have yet to be revealed.

Opera singer Henry Norris Russell James Watson has begun a row of radiotherapy for his brain tumor.
The 41-year-old's handler, Richard Thompson, said that Watson would undergo five years of radiotherapy every week for the next fin weeks.
James Dewey Watson underwent surgery to remove the tumor in October, his minute operation on the neoplasm in 12 months.
Managing director Thompson said: "He's in as trade good as booze as anybody stool be with that variety of travel ahead.
